San Pietro is located in the heart of the historical center of
the medieval "borgo" (ancient village) of Portovenere.
Typical colourful Ligurian house,it is the last tower house on
the promenade towards magnificent St. Peter's Church.
Entrance is from the nice "carugio", the crooked inner
main village street.
The four flights of stairs up are paid off, when you reach the
top and see the fantastic panorama ahead. This location makes you
feel like you are on the water with it's uncomparable views. Palmaria
Island and the enchanting Poet's Gulf seem to be at your fingertips.
Seaview Apartment
Upon entering the apartment there is a corridor with a small kitchen on the left. Going straight ahead there is a living/dining room with a table that comfortably seats up to six, a wicker couch and chairs with a large window looking over the water. On this level there is also a double bedroom that also has a wonderful view , a bathroom with a half-tub and a hand held shower and a single bedroom that also has a view of the famous San Pietro church. From the corridor, there is a staircase that leads up to an open space above the living room area, where there is another small sitting area and two single beds. This apartment therefore sleeps up to 5 people. Furnishing is simple and essential. For larger groups there is the chance of combining a second apartment on the same floor that is owned by the same family.
Carugio Apartment
Furnishing is similar to seaview apartment. Here we can sleep up to four people. There is one double room with a queen size bed and another room with a single bed and a pull out trundle bed (a perfect set up for children). There is a bathroom with a shower and a living room with a kitchen corner and dining table.
No air conditioning in these properties, but thick stone walls keep always propery fresh, even in the hottest season and, moreover, the property is always ventilated.
From this location all stores are just downstairs. There you
can find a good and pictoresque selection of all local products
like focaccia, pesto, and really good gelato. Boat services are
available from the main dock for day trips to the CinqueTerre,
Portofino, Lerici. Private motor boat service always available
to reach Palmaria Island. It is also possible to rent a boat
to make it to some of the more secluded beaches of the ligurian
coast (most famous ones: Le Nere and Le Rosse)
