Casa Giulia is located in the small medieval borg of Montemarcello, Liguria. This characteristic "borgo" (ancient village) is located 260 meters above sea level and has an outstanding panorama of the Poet's Gulf of La Spezia. In 1985 Montemarcello was turned into a National Natural Park with a botanical garden where all of the local fauna and flora can be discovered through the various guided tours that take you through the park's hiking trails.
Casa Giulia is a typical Ligurian home built on three levels just off the small characteristic church square. From the house there are views of the small cobblestone streets, the Poet's Gulf, the Palmaria Island and in the distance Portovenere. The village has been closed off to traffic and there is a public parking lot available for visitors about 200 mts. from the center. This particular location has been furnished with an art collection made by the owner during her travels around the world as a diplomat. The house was refurbished in 2001 and all of the furnishings are of great prestige.
The first floor consists of an entrance and a small living room
with a fireplace. There is also a small single bedroom, a bathroom
with a shower, and the live in kitchen which looks out onto the
small terrace covered with grape vines where there is a second
dining area for eating outside.
The second floor has a small double bedroom, a bathroom with
a shower, and a panoramic desk corner (internet, telephone, etc.).
The third floor has a large living room with a fireplace and
