This delightful
and quiet garden apartment is located in the historic heart of
San Terenzo, 200 meters from the free public beach. It can be reached
from San Terenzo’s front promenade (200 meters), served by buses
to La Spezia, Lerici and the Cinque Terre, or for car users, it
is a five minute walk from the local public car park.
The entrance to the apartment is from a pedestrian street, typical
of the area, dating back to the 16^th Century. San Terenzo offers
a great array of restaurants, stores and markets, and staying
here can be a relaxing and comfortable way of spending even long
periods of vacation, since everything is at hand from here. The
food is classic
Mediterranean, with excellent local sea food caught daily, and
there is a weekly market every Friday.
San Terenzo is right in the centre of the Golfo dei Poeti (The
Bay of Poets), so called, in part, due to the fact that Percy
Bysshe Shelley and Byron both had houses here (Shelley’s is indeed
on San Terenzo’s waterfront). From here you can walk to Lerici
and by bus, car or boat you can reach La Spezia (about 20 minutes).
The World Heritage site
of The Cinque Terre is a 40 minute boat ride away, and the cities
of Lucca, Pisa and Florence are all within easy reach by car
or public transport. San Terenzo remains unspoilt, with a selection
of beautiful beaches on its doorstep, with the nearby facilities
of Lerici, including floodlit tennis courts and a nine hole golf
course, all within a ten minute walk. Motorboats can also be
hired locally, to visit the nearby islands and coves.
Even in winter the climate is mild and it is often possible to
lie on the beach in January and February lulled by the warm sun
of the Italian Riviera.
The apartment was completely refurbished last year, and is made
up of three main areas: the main open plan zone, consisting of
a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with dining table leading, through
an exposed 17th century brick stone arch, to the evening area.
Here there is a sliding door that can separate day from evening area, if needed. Here there
are two large sofa beds, suitable for guests or children, and a double
wall bed. The bathroom leads off from the evening area, and has
an encased shower, and is decorated throughout with Bisazza tiles.
There is also a sizeable walk-in wardrobe.
Further, there is direct access through a large window-door,
straight into a beautiful Italian garden with lemon trees and
other typical plants of the area. The garden is ideal for al
fresco dining, with a table and barbeque. There is also an outdoor
shower, perfect for a refreshing shower after coming back from
the beach.
The third area is a separate bedroom, accessed through the garden,
with a double bed and capacious wardrobe. There is also a second
toilet that can be accessed from the garden.

Furnishing is modern and essential all over the property, all
items are new and nicely chosen by the owners, who have a holiday
property close to this one (privacy guaranteed).
Satellite TV (including SKY) and internet are available and
the property has a sophisticated independent heating system
(even though temperatures rarely fall below 14 C degrees even
in winter).
International access is easy with Pisa Airport 40 minutes away
and Genova 1 hour, by car. It may be possible to arrange a
parking space in a garage two minutes’ walk away from the apartment. |
