Red Rocks | Sleeps: | Bedrooms: | Bathrooms:

This beautiful apartment is located in the enchanting village of San Terenzo, in the heart of the Poets’ Gulf.

A perfect location if you want to enjoy the beach without any stress! Everything you need is at walking distance and the sea is so close that it seems you can almost touch it from the windows of this cozy apartment. You can forget using your car...

Beautiful beaches, shops, bars, markets and restaurants are just out of your door, but, at the same time, the village is quite at night.

The apartment is located in a typical ligurian stone building, facing the most characteristic square of San Terenzo; here, fishermen’s families are still living in this part of the village and everything is still original, untouched and talk to us of ancient times.

The apartment, at third (and last) floor of this ancient building, has been newly restored. The view is fantastic from there and a fair reward for the steep stairs that take you up there.

Entering the apartment, the dining room opens in front of you: there are two comfortable couches perfect for a relaxing after a day out on the beach (one of them turns out into a queen size bed), a beautiful design table for 6 and an open, fully equipped kitchen. All these parts of the apartment have a great sea-view thanks to the two windows from where sight leaves breathless: the Poets’ Gulf and the Lerici Castle appear like a beautiful painting.

The bedroom with a kingsize bed is small, but very romantic. The window in front of the bed at night will bring you a pleasant sea breeze and the sound of the waves and you are lulled as if you were sleeping on a boat.

Next to the bedroom, there is a cosy bathroom with shower.

About the location:

San Terenzo is placed on the coastline between two blue crystal clear bays known as Venere Azzurra and Baia Blue. The village had already sparked the attention of the romantic English writers back at the beginning of the 1800's for the intense blue color of its waters and its pink colored sand. Percy Bysshe Shelley with his wife Mary and some close friends came to stay here in 1822 at Villa Magni. This white house with a patio at ground floor and a big terrace at frist floor is still existing, now separated from the beach by the main road but in the ‘800 directly on the sand and washed by the waves. From here the writer left on Jul 1st aboard his boat Ariel and never came back since he found his death during a tempest in the wateres in front of Viareggio on his journey back.

Attracted by the myth of Shelly, many artist came to San Terenzo to visit the village that inspired so many memorable pages: D.H.Lawrence, Virginia Woolf, Henry James, Gabriele D'Annunzio, Paolo Mantegazza, Sem Benelli that here composed "La cena delle beffe" and gave nave to the place "Golfo dei Poeti" (Poets’ Gulf).
Now, in Summer, a open cinema is hosted in the garden of the villa.
From Hidden Jewel we suggest taking a nice walk along the coast, actually a long, pleasant, uninterrupted promenade, that leads to the beautiful village of Lerici. In Summer jazz concerts and art exhibitions are just a part of many cultural events that animate this coloured place. On Saturday mornings a lively flea market takes place along San Terenzo promenade.
