La Biccheraia
is a charming typical Tuscan country villa that dates back to the
1600s. Very tastefully furnished and recently refurbished the villa
is surrounded by the Apuani mountains and the valley of Lunigiana.
Lunigiana is a very popular area of Tuscany amongst those looking
for an authentic Tuscan experience and contact with the beautiful
nature and cultural experiences that this area offers. Known as
the land of a hundred castles, this area offers a simple, unspoilt
atmosphere with its country stores, medieval borgs, and local festivities.
This area is also very central for many day trips to places like
Florence, Lucca, Pisa, and beaches like CinqueTerre, Portovenere,
etc.
The villa in itself is a two story home with a nice size outdoor
garden area. The entrance is from a covered pergola with a wonderful
panoramic view of the surrounding hillsides, a perfect spot for
dining al fresco.
The first floor is composed of a live in kitchen
with a wonderful fireplace, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with a
shower, and a washing room with washing machine.
The second floor has a large living room with another fireplace and a dining area.
There are three bedrooms upstairs of which one has a queen size
bed and the other have two twin size beds. Here there are also
two bathrooms, one with a tub and the other with a shower.
The owner has done a wonderful job both furnishing with beautiful
antiques but also making the house comfortable and giving the
perfect relaxing atmosphere that we all look for in a vacation
home.
Upon request special meals can be prepared in the villa by a
local chef and extra maid service can be arranged.
