Visiting the house it is evident that quiteness and beauty that inspired the poet are still here: from its windows the relaxing sound of the sea is definitely part of the fascinating atmospere of Villa Montale and the big park of palms and pine trees embracing the property is a real treasure of silence and beauty that shade the mansion keeping it fresh even in the hottest months.
The whole mansion is now divided into three apartments (one each floor) served by elevator.The three apartments belong to three different private owners.
The apartment “I Limoni”, available for rental, is located on second floor.
Entering from the main door we find a wide entrance hall, leading us to the majestic sitting and dining room that will reveal the incredible fresco's paintings, a peculiarity of all the bedrooms of the apartment. In this room two big windows, one leading to a small balcony. Both of them open on the marvellous panorama of the sea and the luxuriant park. The floor is made, “wall to wall”, with the tipical ligurian tecnique of “graniglia”, a classic and elegant decoration ever present in the high class families mansions during the 1800 and early 1900.
Two comfortable sofas and a large table for up to 10 seats are perfect for having a deliciuos dinner or just for enjoying the calm of the place.
This large dining and sitting room is the real heart of the house and from it we have access to the rest of the apartment, included five bedrooms, four double and one twin.
All the bedrooms are definitely comfortable and charming, each one with a different decoration or colour, two double rooms have the seaview, for the other three (two double, one twin bed ) the view is over the quite and cool pinetree park.
The kitchen, fully equipped is small if compared to the large apartment, but this is typical of the ligurian mansions of the XIX Century, a characteristic that the owner didn't want to change in order to keep the floor of the villa as close as possible to the original condition.
The bathrooms are 3, newly restaured all equipped with shower.
Villa Montale with it's 10 sleeps, few steps away from the fantastic and world famous beaches of Monterosso is perfect for a family with kids that will enjoy the private park eventually shared with the other two owners . But dont worry! The park is indubitably spacious anough to guarantee privacy to "I Limoni" guests.
Stores are at hand in Fegina (about 300 - 500 mt) and pubs, pizzerias and restaurants can be easily found in both parts of Monterosso Village.
Monterosso train station is about 800 meters from the property and private car transfer can be arranged at arrival
An important PLUS of Villa Montale is its private parking for 1 or 2 cars: a real "plus" in the “steep and tiny reality” of the Cinque Terre.
Please, note that the property is served by an elevator but, actually, it belongs to second floor owner and it is opened by a key;
it may be used only exceptionally, upon request and with acceptance by its owner; so please, tell us if you really need this service and we will let you have the key.
