Porto Antico
is a charming little apartment located in the historical center
of the fisherman's village of Portovenere.
The building it is located in is one of the colorful seafront buildings
that make Portovenere so characteristic.
Legend has it that in
antique times the villagers would throw hot oil form these houses
onto the invading pirates. The apartment has some beautiful photographs
of Portovenere in the beginning of the 1900's.
Just above the small
port of Portovenere, this apartment is very central and perfect
for day trips visiting the CinqueTerre as the ferries depart about
400yds. away.
It is also very panoramic and from the living room window
one can gaze out at the everchanging scenery of the village
life just below.
Porto Antico is located on the second floor
and upon entering to the left is the living room that has two
comfortable down couches (one can turn into an extra bed) and
a dining table that seats up to six.
Here there is also a small but very well equipped kitchen.
There is a dishwasher, stove top, and oven.
Going down the small corridor is the first of the two bathrooms
which has a shower.
At the end of the corridor is the bedroom
that also has it's own bathroom with a shower.
The bedroom
is composed of a queen size bed and behind the armoir is another
single bed with a trundle bed that can be pulled out.
Porto Antico is the perfect location for a small family or
for a couple looking for an IN town rental and for enjoing
the real village life..
All shops and restaurants are just downstairs and as mentioned
before daily excursions to the CinqueTerre are at your fingertips
along with other interesting boat trips such as Portofino ,
Genova (acquarium), and the local islands.
Moped and boat rentals are also available.
N.B. Not avaible in July-August. |
