This lovely
villa is located in Fauglia, a hilly county side, in the province
of Pisa. This is the area where the old noble families from Pisa
had their country villas and estate.
The villa was acquired by the grand father of the present owners,
a nice young couple, from two old ladies who owned the property
for some dacades.
The villa is dating back to the end of 1800- The farm house, where
the present owners occasionally live, is dating back to the beginning
of 1800. It seems it was an oratory.
In 1970 The owners decided to restore the little chapel located
at the end of the lawn, nest to the farm house-
The territory of Fauglia, like all Tuscany, is a very old territory
with traces of old human settlements.The Etruscan people had great
cities there. Volterra is not far away.
A nice story at Villa St Catherine.
There is a story about an Etruscan stone bust that was on top of
the main gate – the bust had been there since ever …!!! One day
an expert of antique passed by and asked the permission to examine
the bust. The result was astonishing for everybody, the bust was
really an Etruscan bust dating back to the 2° century B.C.
It was immediately removed from on top of the gate and put in the
owner’s house in a special niche!!
In the modern time the villa is decorated with pieces of antique
and it maintains the charm of an
Old noble country home- It is very comfortable, equipped with all
the modern appliances.
The property surrounding the villa, is about 18 hectares ( sqmt
180.000) there are about 800 olive tress producing very good olive
oil that the guests can buy directly- cultivation of nut trees,
fruit trees and a cultivation of truffles but, up to now- no truffles
have ever appeared !!!
Nice walking in the property and in the wood.
The young owners occasionally (week end and during summer) live
in the farm house at the end of the lawn, they can occasionally
use the pool and the tennis ground.
Close to the farm house there is the house of the guardian of the
property- they have an independent gate.
From these houses and the villa there are some hundred mts. To
be quick ,the house guardian uses the bike to go from his house
to the villa
The owners, a nice and gentle couple, ( the husband can speak English)
will be happy to meet the guests , to show them the property and
have a glass of wine together.

CD stereo
Dining room with dining table sitting 10 - 12 people.
Traditional country, fully equipped (gas, cooker, electric hoven,
dishwasher, fridge, frezeer etc) opening on the portico for dining
al fresco, one closet, one WC.
First floor:
Large central living room
On the right side one double bedroom opening on the first floor
terrace.
One twin bedroom- opening on the terrace-
One bathroom with tub and handle shower (between the two rooms).
