La Torre stands
on the green hills between Liguria and Tuscany, in an enchanting
medieval village surrounded by olive groves and chestnut trees.
Once the residence of the garrison defending the plain of the Luni
valley, its strategic position now makes for a breathtaking panorama.
Overlooking the Apuane Alps and the Meditteranean Sea, this recently
restored home has been comfortably furnished creating a warm and
cozy atmosphere respecting the original structure.
On the ground floor there is a lovely country style kitchen
that is fully equipped (washing machine, dishawasher, microwave,
etc) and a large living/dining area with a panoramic terrace
and a fireplace. On the first floor there is the main entrance
that has a second large living room, from which, through a terrace,
you have the access to the small tower that has a bathroom downstairs
and a very large bedroom upstairs. From here you have magnificent
views. On the second floor there are two bedrooms (one double
and one twin bedroom) and a bathroom that has a bathtub.
From La Torre many places of touristic interest are within reach.
Less than 8 kms away in Marina di Carrara is a regular ferry
service for the CinqueTerre, Lerici, and Portovenere. The marble
quarries in Carrara and the town of Pietrasanta with its marble
sculpture workshops are also only a fifteen minute drive. Lucca
and Pisa are less than an hour away and Florence is about an
hour and a half drive.
N.B. Infants up to the age of two are admitted (a baby crib
is available) but children between 2 and 12 yrs of age are not
admitted. Baby sitting and extra maid service are available. |
