Villa Montegrande
is located in a small village, near Lucca, not far away from the
sea.
It is surrounded by green lush hills, wood and olive groves.
In the old days it was a manor house of a very big estate belonging
to the most powerful Family of Lucca (the Mansi Family).
In the area there were several farms and villas belonging to
the Mansi Family- With centuries passing by, farms and villas
have passed through different owners-
Between 1700 and 1800 the family of the present owners settled
down definitely in Lucca and acquired several properties including
Villa Montegrande.
The villa still belong to this family and the present descendent
and owner of the villa continues to take great care of it.
The villa is dating back to 1600 and 1700, with the typical outside
double flights of stairs leading up to the main floor (piano
nobile).
It has been restored through centuries always maintaining its
elegance and charm.
The owner has introduced elegant , modern architectural elements
like the great inside staircase, some pieces of modern furniture
combining very well along with period furniture.
The research of beauty is a way of thinking of the owner, a very
nice enthusiastic lady, who paid great care and careful attention
to any detail in the villa.
The villa has been equipped with all the modern comforts.
Also the annex, The Barn, has been very carefully restored with
modern architectural structure, like gklass wall, but keeping
the atmosphere and charm of an old , farming stone building.
