Villa Veronica,
a manor villa, is located in a beautiful extremely panoramic position.,
on high hills, 400 mt u.s.l. It overlooks all over the plain of
Lucca, with the view rolling down from the hills to the faraway
mountains separating the plain from the sea.
The villa and the estate date back to 1600, the estate was composed
of the villa and several farm houses where the farming people used
to live while farming the land.
The main crops were, and still are, olive oil and wine. All these
valuable crops, as it was used in the old days, were kept in the
cellar of the villa, where the old big wine barrels are still existing
In the lawn, in front of the Villa, as testimony of the old work,
there are big stone wheels, which were used for oil pressing, moved
by farm animals
( donkeys- horses etc ).
The villa has been carefully restored by the present owners, maintaining
the old structure and atmosphere, giving again life to the property
as a farm producing wine and the famous Lucca olive oil. The villa
has been restored with taste and care for all the details , and
very well equipped with all modern comforts.
It is decorated with period antique pieces of furniture , canopied
beds , marble bathrooms combining old style with modern touches
and comfort.
The view from the villa is outstanding , over the plain and the
hills covered in wood and olives trees, down to the Lucca plain,
and, beyond the mountains, down to the sea.
In the clear days it is possible to see the isle of Gorgona, far
away in the Mediterranean sea
