Which airport you choose to fly in and out of depends on (apart from price) how long you plan to visit Italy and where you plan to travel. Consider anyway that Pisa and Genoa are the closest ones. Driving own car or traveling by train? Let’s take a quick look at all the possibilities.
Train
Train travelling is cheaper and, when in the Cinque Terre, the best way to move around.

Driving Own Car
Car is not necessary to visit the Cinque Terre and we always advise not to drive to the area.
Our roads are narrow, with difficult turns and bends, often requiring you bak off up or down hill and car parking are often full, expensive and never close to the lodgings.
But if you are touring around and rented a car or you are driving your own car, do not worry. There’s a way to survive our roads and car parking, do not worry!
